“In recent times, Presidents have had the opportunity to appoint close to two hundred Article III judges in a given term, including two Justices to the Supreme Court. These judges serve for life.
“In order to educate the public on how various Presidential candidates plan to fulfill this important responsibility the Federalist Society has invited each of the major Presidential contenders … to discuss the kinds of judges he or she would appoint if elected President.”

1.3.08 – JJ’s post reminds us that we should make it clear that this isn’t necessarily a “Homeschoolers Against Huckabee” category (although it does include folks who homeschool and who have declared themselves to be in opposition to a Huckabee presidency). Rather, this is a “People Whose Children Don’t Happen to Go to School Should Not Necessarily Be Assumed to be for Huckabee Despite What Factional Claims and One-Dimensional News Reporting Might Have You Believe” category.

By way of Nevada Homeschoolers for Ron Paul, here’s a message to home educating Ron Paul supporters from Shana Kluck, National Coordinator of Homeschoolers for Ron Paul:
Let’s show the world how many homeschoolers support Dr. Paul!
The campaign is going to add a “Homeschoolers Endorse Ron Paul” page to
their site. It would be great if every single one of you would send me a
short endorsement statement about why you, as a homeschooler, choose to support
Ron Paul. Include a short bio- names, state, how long you’ve homeschooled,
etc. If you know other homeschooling supporters that are not on this list,
please forward this info to them. Please send your endorsement to [my email] with “Endorse” in the subject
line. I’m collecting them all and sending them to Jonathan Bydlak in a
single email. He’s overwhelmed with the number of emails coming in from
other sources and we felt that this would make it easier for him.Thank you!

At least, that’s what they’re saying at the Baltimore Sun:
An informal coalition of evangelical Christians, home-schoolers and social conservative activists rewrote the rules of the Iowa caucuses, which had decreed that an intense focus on organization was the only way to win. Romney had the best organization money could buy, but it was no match for Huckabee’s crusaders.
Homeschoolers — who teach their children at home to shield them from what they see as corrupt secular influences — have tight if unofficial networks throughout the country that were at work in Iowa.
Huckabee aides said their victory today had much to do with the strong second-place finish in the August straw poll. They said religious conservatives such as author Tim Lahaye, who encouraged local pastors to tell their congregations to turn out, helped, but they credited smaller informal networks like home-schoolers with essentially turning out their voters with very little help from a bare-bones campaign.
Time:
The Republican race, meanwhile, is again thrown into a cocked hat. Relying on a deep well of support among evangelical voters and Iowa home schoolers, Huckabee’s win shakes up the GOP race once more, setting up an unexpected three way race in New Hampshire among Huckabee, Romney and former Arizona Senator John McCain, with libertarian Ron Paul and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani bringing up the rear.
Unforeseen at the time, that contest firmly established Iowa as a two-man race pitting Romney’s vast financial resources and organizational skills against an effort by Huckabee, aided by churchgoers, home schoolers and those backing a radical overhaul of the nation’s tax system so that it would be based on sales taxes.
Among Republicans, Iowa became a showdown between Romney, who built a formidable organization, and Huckabee, whose operation relied on support from conservative Christians, gun clubs and home-schoolers. “Passion breeds organization,” said Chip Saltsman, Huckabee’s campaign manager.
Huckabee does not have a political organization, but what people have to recognize is that these evangelical conservative Christians are organized—home schoolers who are for Huckabee, they’re organized. And they all talk to each other, and I think they’re going to turn out in large and organized numbers.
While Mr. Romney sported a much more organized campaign with a network of supporters built over months, Mr. Huckabee relied on coalitions of voters — pastors, home schoolers and supporters of the “fair tax,” a national sales tax meant to replace federal income taxes — passionately dedicated to his cause.
